Reaching the end of the consultation and next steps - message from your Process Moderator

May I take this opportunity to confirm that the consultation period
closes on Friday 28 May at 17.00h. UK time. There remains still
time for last minute thoughts and contributions.

The next step will be that the moderators will prepare their overall
theme summaries. These will be posted on the website and be
forward directly to the respective Theme members. We will then
prepare a compilation report which draws together the outcomes of
this 6-week consultation together with a synthesis of key emerging
messages for DFID. We plan that this work will be completed by
early week commencing 7 June and we will advise you through
your email addresses when these documents are available on the
website.

It remains for me to say in my role as process moderator and on
behalf of the theme moderator team and the oversight group, how
much we have all enjoyed the process and welcomed the wealth of
contributions and the high quality of the debates that have taken
place. The findings from this consultation will be reviewed by the
DFID as they take forward the preparation on their new policy
guidance, by the International Development Select Committee as
they reflect on DFID's role in agriculture, and finally by the
Commission for Africa in taking forward the Commission's work
over the coming year (see my last two summaries for background
on the latter two activities).

Our website is now being updated and will remain open until March
2005 - we will offer news updates as they relate to this theme.
May I therefore invite you to visit the site from time to time.

So thanks once again - it has been a privilege to work with each
and everyone one of you.

Regards

Felicity Proctor
