SUMMARIES OF DISCUSSIONS

Summary from the Process Coordinator, Felicity Proctor, 21st April.

Welcome to the first weekly summary.

We are delighted to be able to tell you that over 350 people have now registered to participate in this consultation - a most encouraging start.

This week, I will be brief as the process has only just begun. Some themes have already got off to an enthusiastic start in particular the themes of Growth and Poverty, Science and Technology, and Economic Opportunity with interesting and diverse ideas and proposals being presented and shared. It is encouraging to see that interest groups in both the North and South are active, with news and views received from Europe, USA, Africa and South Asia.

The four week timetable will be tight - so to the many who are thinking about offering a contribution, may I encourage you get your ideas into the debate. The thematic moderators are happy for you to join any ongoing thread of debate or for you to start a new thread. Your views and ideas matter however big or small or conventional or non conventional - DFID wants to hear from you.

Good luck in the coming week and let the ideas and energy flow.

Felicity Proctor
Process coordinator
